Renvyle House Hotel

Renvyle House Hotel is a luxury hotel in the village of Renvyle, not far from Clifden in North East Galway.

Their old site was choc-full of content, but suffered from ad-hoc additions over the lifetime of the site. Before embarking on the build, we had a look at all the content on the site, as well as new material that the client wanted to add, before settling on a new structure.

The front page was a bit of a challenge - everybody wants their piece of the pie, but we really liked some of the imagery available as it it did a great job in illustrating the hotel. The client can update new images to reflect the current season.

One of the main features is the regular activity breaks added. The hotel does a great job in constantly providing new attractions to its guests, many who come back year on year.

From a technical perpective, the site mainly fell into place, once the architectue was defined. Views and CCK modules do a great job with the content. The hompage fade is achieved with the innerfade jquery plugin.

The room booking system is provided by bookassist, and the main difficulty here was lack of full control over the HTML output. The firebug plugin proved its worth again to find out exactly what being output by the script.
